Following those Selling Sunset firings, does the Oppenheim Group have a HR department?

Imagine if your office was that dramatic

The Oppenheim Group have excused and fired several real estate agents from their office during its long life on Netflix. It got me thinking whether the real estate firm on Selling Sunset has a HR department like some other companies across the world.

As it turns out, the USA isn’t as strict as the UK when it comes to freelancing and company rules. And Nicole, for example, claims she wasn’t fired, as she was just to leave the office and ended up continuing to work from home after her argument with Chrishell.

“That storyline was frustrating for me, because the truth of the matter is I was never fired from the office or The Oppenheim group,” Nicole told Tudum. The realtors are independent contractors, and therefore they don’t clock in every day from nine-to-five.

So, does The Oppenheim Group have an official HR department? No, because its agents are independent contractors. The company’s structure is more informal, with founders Brett and Jason Oppenheim making decisions about who stays and who is removed.
During an interview with Decider, Jason was asked whether they have a HR department in place, following Sean Palmieri’s firing in Selling The OC, after his argument with Austin. “Fair question,” began Oppenheim. “I think Austin didn’t read the handbook.”
He explained that a “handbook got circulated” and that they “have policies in place.” When asked if there was any follow-up from any HR department, Alexandra Jarvis from Selling The OC said they’re “1099 independent contractors, so it wouldn’t make sense.”
She added: “Jason [decides] who’s going to stay in the office and who’s not.” Currently, there’s 142 people associated as an employee of The Oppenheim Group on LinkedIn, and they genuinely have such a long list of agents on their official website.
