A family member leaked that Chris Evans was having a baby months ago, and nobody noticed

The world is shocked after finding out Chris Evans has had a baby with his wife Alba Baptista. Nobody even knew she was pregnant, but a family member actually leaked the news months ago.

The Captain America actor welcomed his first child on Friday in Massachusetts, a baby girl called Alma Grace Baptista Evans, a source confirmed to PEOPLE.

“They’re enjoying their privacy and these special first few days as a family with their baby,” they said. The couple were first linked in January 2022 and got married in September 2023.

Chris and Alma kept the entire pregnancy private, but her dad Luiz Baptista actually leaked the baby news on Instagram all the way back in June.

He responded to an Instagram post wishing him and Chris’ dad G. Roberts Evans III a Happy Father’s Day saying: “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!”

At the time, Alba would have been around five months pregnant, so the comment must have been about the actor soon becoming a dad himself.

“Happy Father’s Day to Bob Evans and Luiz Baptista. Thank you for helping bring two amazing human beings into the world. And happy father’s day to y’all!” the post read.

The comments on the post have since been turned off, but there are still screenshots on Twitter that show Luiz’s original comment leaking the news.

A few people caught on at the time and started speculating that Chris and Alba were expecting, but most people took no notice, so the baby news has come as a huge shock.

After they tied the knot, Chris opened up to People about how much he wanted to have kids, saying: “That’s absolutely something I want: wife, kids, building a family.”

“When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships; the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
