After their Love Is Blind drama, Joe and Madison are slating each other in interviews
It’s all got a bit messy
If you haven’t watched the most recent episodes of Love Is Blind season nine, you might want to look away now. But, the current Love Is Blind episode drop didn’t end well for Joe and Madison.
They got engaged in the pods, and were on their way to the finale of the show – the weddings. However, as things progressed, the couple realised it wasn’t right for them. Joe previously told Madison that she was not his “usual type,” and he described this to producers as “thinner women.”
Joe then made it to his wedding suit fitting, before packing it all in. He told Madison he wasn’t her “person” and that was that.
Since then, the pair have been opening up about their journey in various interviews. And it’s not looking good. They have both really struggled with how things were left.

Speaking on The Viall Files podcast, Madison said: “[Joe] did mention to me that he usually dates… he said it to me as ‘more petite women.’ You know, when we date, typically our partners are attracted to us and we’re attracted to our partners. Honestly, from that comment, I kind of developed an eating disorder moving forward.”
She said her relationship had been “disheartening” but did explain that she is “healthy now”.

Speaking more of what Joe said, Madison added: “It was really hurtful. Again, inside thoughts being said out loud that didn’t need to be said, and it made me really sad that instead of this being about our connection, it became about my appearance. It opened the door for the rest of the world to comment further than they already will… what comes with scrutiny of being on a show like this.”
In an earlier interview, Madison had said her “worst case scenario” going into the show was “the person you fall in love with isn’t attracted to you”. She called her journey a “hard watch”. She said since the show, she’s been in therapy.
Joe then spoke to US Weekly, and shared his side of what Madison had said about her struggles. “Obviously, kind of a horrible feeling on my end if that’s something that affected her long-term or for a little while after,” he said.
“It was a surprising comment. Madison’s always been very confident in her body image, but you never know how somebody’s really feeling inside. I didn’t mean it to affect her in that way. It’s not a good thing to hear.”
He later spoke about the breakdown of their relationship. He said: “It was hard. There’s no common ground ever. I’m to blame for my part in that. I can say that wholeheartedly, and I think somebody else would be a great match for her.”
