Yikes! Nick Cannon reveals the shocking reason he has so many kids, 12 with six women
He’s now going to therapy to ‘heal’
In a new interview with Breakfast Club, Nick Cannon opens up about the real reason why he has so many children, and how he feels about it now.
Since his divorce was finalised in 2016, Nick Cannon has had 10 more children, making him the parent of 12 kids with six women, including the twins he had with Mariah.

“It wasn’t like I was acting out. It was more being careless, being frivolous with my process because I could do it, because I had the money, because I had the access to whoever and however I wanted to move,” he told Charlamagne.
“It wasn’t like ‘Oh, I’m gonna go have 12 kids.’ It was more about like, yo, I’m gonna just live life and have fun and whatever happens, happens. I can handle it.”
Nick also opened up about his recent diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder. He said he isn’t far enough on the narcissist spectrum to make him antisocial, but his ego can sometimes get in the way.
“Being almost 45 now, I can sit back and like, if I would have thought the process through a little bit more and took time to do the inner work, things might have been a little bit different in certain scenarios.”
The comedian had a whirlwind romance with Mariah Carey, getting married to her only two months after they started dating. Their marriage lasted six years, but they separated in 2016.

“A lot of it is the trauma that I was experiencing of not knowing how to handle divorce,” Nick said, looking back at his behaviour. “And me acting out because I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m the man now’.”
He told Breakfast Club he’s been going to therapy to work through his narcissism and ego issues, and is finally healing from the stress of his divorce. 12 kids later, he said he’s focused on bettering himself for his children.
“But I stand firm on all of my decisions, because I love all my kids, I love my family infrastructure. But I know it all started from a place of pain and not really healing properly.”
