Love Is Blind UK’s Sarover opens up about dramatic ‘change’ in Kal before shock split

She says she wasn’t treated as an equal

The Love Is Blind UK season two reunion is out, and there’s drama between almost all of the finale couples. Season-favourites Sarover and Kal said yes at the altar, but the latest episode showed they didn’t last. Sarover has opened up about the split, which was as much of a shock to her as it was to the rest of us.

They had faced doubt from family members leading up to the wedding day. Sarover’s mum and sister were uncomfortable with the experiment and thought they were rushing things. Kal’s brother Junaid was also doubtful – he thought Kal was too independent to get married. But for Sarover, choosing Kal was a no-brainer.

“The Kal I fell in love with during the pods is 100% the Kal I would pick 100 times over, because everything he said – that’s the person I saw myself with going forward,” she said in an interview with The Mirror.

Sarover still looks back at their wedding day positively and doesn’t regret her decision to marry him.

“Getting married to Kal was, to this day, the best day of my life,” she said. “I was so in love with him and it was just beautiful.”

During the reunion, Sarover revealed that Kal had been getting to know her family and making an effort in the relationship for the first few months of their marriage. Still, she felt like there was a shift.

“The Kal after we got married was never the same and I don’t know what changed.”

According to  Sarover, Kal came home from work one day and coldly ended their marriage, without even trying to make things work.

“I was in love with him and he just ended it and I was blindsided,” she said.

Looking back at their marriage, she now sees red flags, saying: “I felt like at times, I wasn’t an equal, at times I wasn’t heard; all this stuff I felt in the pods – seen, heard – I did not feel that in the marriage.”

When confronted about his sudden decision to leave her, Kal said: “Nothing went wrong, she was a good wife, we’re just not right for each other.”

Junaid believes his brother went into the experiment with good intentions, but now thinks if Kal couldn’t make it worth with Sarover, he will never settle down.
