People think they’ve cracked real reason Taylor and Travis chose the 26th to announce engagement

Everyone completely lost their minds when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce suddenly announced their engagement on Instagram, but people have now figured out the real reason they did it on the 26th.

Taylor and Travis have been public since September 2023, when she showed up at one of his NFL games, sat with his mum Donna, and basically confirmed what everyone had been whispering. Since then, the pair have been spotted everywhere together. She’s cheered him on from the stands, and he’s even joined her on stage during the Eras Tour. Recently, she even went on Jason Kelce’s podcast, Travis’ brother, to announce her 12th album, The Life of a Show Girl. Basically, they’ve been pretty inseparable.

Yesterday, August 26, they announced that they were engaged. The caption read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

But now, Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, revealed that he had proposed to Taylor two weeks before the announcement. Ed told News5, “Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago. He was going to put it off till this week.”

So, why did they delay the engagement announcement?

Ed Kelce revealed that Travis wanted to do some kind of big gesture. He said, “He was going to put her off till this week, to make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you could do it on the side of the road. Do it any place that makes it a special event. When you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”

Ed added that Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, was giving Travis the same advice. Ed also revealed he had known about the plan for months and had even expected him to pop the question during last year’s NFL season.

But people have actually figured out the real reason Taylor and Travis’ engagement announcement was made yesterday, 26th of August. It’s interesting to note that 13 is Taylor’s favourite and lucky number. That’s the date she was born on, and everything good that has happened to her is somehow related to the number 13.

Now, one person on Reddit pointed this out. They wrote, “Of course she’d wait for the 26th because 13 x 2 (the number of years they’ve been dating)!!!”

Another person added, “Also the prophecy is track 26 and it’s safe to say the hopes in that song finally came true!!” referring to her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.

People think that they got engaged after the filming of the podcast, which was released on the 13th. And they waited for the 26th to announce it.

Not to quote the mastermind herself, but none of it was accidental.
