Renowned nepo baby Gracie Abrams, who is the daughter of filmmaker J.J. Abrams and film producer Katie McGrath, has had a shaky introduction to the music industry. Besides her one undeniable bop, That’s So True, which largely did so well after going viral on TikTok, I’m struggling to name a single other song. Still, she’s one of those celebrities that people LOVE to hate.

What is the Gracie Abrams meme?

Unlike the Ibiza Final Boss, which requires layers of understanding and context to get the joke, the “So I blocked Gracie Abrams” meme is incredibly simple. Essentially, when literally anything negative happens, you block Gracie Abrams in response. Screenshots of the confirmed blocking are then posted to Twitter with “X and X happened, so I blocked Gracie Abrams.”

Where did the ‘So I blocked Gracie Abrams’ meme come from?

According to Know Your Meme, the “So I blocked Gracie Abrams” gag started after her questionable comments back in 2017. At the time, she reacted to Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard with, “Sticky situation: knowing he’s 14 but still incredibly down.”

The publication seems to think that this inciting incident sparked the trend, which started to pick up in 2022 when Gracie’s original controversial post resurfaced.
