Bella Thorne is causing a stir after proposing to her fiancé AGAIN, and people are divided
She has now responded to it
Bella Thorne recently went viral for proposing to her fiancé after already being engaged for a year, and people are divided.
The former Disney star has been engaged to producer Mark Emms since May 2023. The two have been together for just over three years, after first meeting at Cara Delevingne’s birthday party in Ibiza in 2022. Bella told Vogue that it was “love at first sight” as the sun came up, and since then, things have only grown more serious.
Mark was the first to propose, getting down on one knee at Bella Thorne’s California home and giving her an emerald-cut diamond ring. But Bella wanted to add her own twist. Fast forward to now, and she decided to propose right back.
She shared photos and clips of the big moment on Instagram, showing her kneeling in front of Mark with a ring of her own. The setting was full-on romantic: candles, colourful flowers and even red heart-shaped balloons that said, “I Love You.”
In her caption, she wrote: “Three years ago we met, one year later he proposed, now one year later so did I.”
But people are divided over this

After Bella posted her proposal video and photos, the comments section quickly filled up. Plenty of viewers were excited for her and thought it was a really sweet gesture. There were comments like “this is adorable” and “girl power.” Some people even praised her for showing that proposals don’t always have to follow tradition.
At the same time, not everyone was impressed. One particular comment said: “Ok ladies let’s not normalise this, okay?” That ended up getting over 88,000 likes. It sparked a wider debate about whether it should be seen as “normal” for women to propose. Other similar comments echoed the same sentiment.

The very next day, Bella addressed the comments on her Instagram story. She wrote: “The comments on my post are hilarious!!”
She went on to point out how split the reactions were, saying: “Totally split down the middle. Half of u are like let’s not normalise proposing to your partner. Other half is like f*** yeah girl power this is the sweetest!!”
So, while some people saw her second proposal as unusual, Bella clearly found the whole debate amusing rather than upsetting.
