What’s actually in Surviving Dejon? He’s responded to shocking claims from his brother’s sister

She wrote 73 pages after an alleged relationship with Dejon

Hot off the back of his Love Island season 12 stint, where he came in fourth place with Meg Moore, Dejon Noel-Williams has reacted to a book entitled Surviving Dejon. Written by someone from Dejon’s youth, the book details a cycle of alleged toxic behaviours, control, and cruelty.

What is Surviving Dejon, and who wrote it?

@niah..papaya

This book answers everything. reasons why I spoke out. Why fear kept me silent for so long. How I lost everyone and everything I ever cared about. It reveals the truth behind the rumours I never wanted to address. I need to tell my truth in the way that I feel in control. This is not for attention, creating this book was like therapy for me. I would never put my reputation on the line or lose the people I loved if I didn’t have a powerful reason to finally speak. This wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. Surviving Dejon isn’t about hate it’s about healing. I hope that people do not use this against him in a harmful way. I hope instead people choose kindness. To everyone who sent me kind messages while I had no one… thank you. You were the support system I didn’t know I needed. Even though I know I’ll receive controversial responses, I hope this helps at least one person. If this helps at least one person out of a dark place, then I have made an impact. I hope after reading, you’ll understand where I was coming from, and I hope you’ll still stand with me. 🫶🏽 ⚠️Trigger warning: This book contains emotionally intense and potentially distressing content. ⚠️ My book is now available at a discounted early bird price for a limited time only. Written by Niah Sienna, Dejon’s brother’s sister with no blood relation, Surviving Dejon is a 73-page book about their alleged relationship. According to Niah, he was 17 and she was 16 when they first got together, with Niah making allegations about their relationship, her subsequent homelessness, and the destructive cycle in excruciating detail.

Announcing the book on TikTok, Niah claimed: “Dejon is a narcissist, he’s manipulative. I’ve been telling everyone this for the past 10 years now but no one believed me.”

The book is available to purchase through a link in her bio.

What does the book actually say?

@niah..papaya

It’s come to my attention, that some people don’t understand the reason for my book, surviving dejon. I took the time to explain why I chose to do this. I understand people might be confused and I’m open to answer the questions that you all have. At some point I will be doing a q&a to cover some of the points that I might have missed. 💕 #loveisland #survivingdejon

In the book itself, Niah recalled a drunken party game with Dejon where her “memory blurred quickly” and she ended up in the shower.

She remembered: “Being in the shower, not how I got there, just water, skin, a quiet that was heavy and wet. I’d vomited on myself, and someone had put me under the stream. I drifted in and out, not thinking, just existing.

“My limbs didn’t feel like mine. The next thing I knew, I was alone in my room trying to grasp my reality. I lay in bed while the world was spinning. This was the first time I had ever been wasted. Dej came to check on me. Then I remember giving consent. That night, I lost my virginity.”

Niah and Dejon allegedly dated for a year in secret before Niah’s little sister discovered their relationship and told her parents. She describes how she told them, “I’m in love with Dej”, but claims they kicked her out of the house when she refused to end the romance.

Homeless, Niah says she became distant from her support network as people at college accused her of incest, despite not being blood-related to Dejon.

She says she even got death threats, to which Dejon allegedly responded, “They’re just jealous. They’re mad because they want me.”

She claims she found evidence of cheating

Niah claims she was “trapped” by Dejon, but despite that, she allegedly later found evidence of him cheating with numerous women.

“By this point, Dej and I had broken up more times than I could count. Each time, I told myself it was the last. Each time, I went back. Not because I still believed in the love. Not because I still believed in him. But because I had lost everything for this relationship. Everything,” she wrote in chapter five.

Despite Dejon allegedly stepping out on the relationship, Niah claims he was incredibly jealous of male friends and other love interests. Back then, she says she was drawn back in by phrases such as “no one loves you like I do”, “it’s us against the world”, and “we’re soulmates.”

“When things were good, Dej could be charming and sweet, but the moment they turned bad, his words cut deep. He never missed a chance to remind me of that one mistake, using it as a weapon to keep me in line, to make me feel small and unworthy,” she added.

‘The arguments never stopped’

In the final few chapters of Surviving Dejon, Niah detailed the last few months of their relationship and how “every morning, every night, there was something new to fight about.”

“Eventually, it broke me. I locked myself in the bathroom and cried until my chest ached,” she wrote. “I had already been thinking about it. The idea had been there, lingering, curling itself into every empty part of me, the thought that maybe, if I left, no one would notice. No one would care.”

Even once Niah had finally broken up with him, she claims she was segregated from the wider family and cut out as they took Dejon’s side.

She felt the need to speak out after watching Love Island

The final portion of the book explained Niah’s reasoning for writing it and how she saw history repeating itself on Love Island season 12.

“What I saw on that screen was a man who had upgraded his mind games. A man who still carried the same darkness, the same emotional games, just packaged in a more polished exterior. Watching the show triggered me, yet I couldn’t stop watching. When he would look at certain women on the show with that cold, glaring stare… it sent shivers down my spine,” she explained in the final chapter.

“Because I remembered that look. I remembered how he’d look at me that same way when I was crying, when I was broken, when I was begging to be heard. That evil silence in his eyes. It all came back. And just like that, the peace I had built cracked open.”

Dejon has posted a statement on his Instagram

Though Dejon has yet to address all of the claims in the book, he did post a statement to his Instagram earlier this week.

He wrote: “I’ve stayed quiet, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t affected me. I hold myself accountable for my communication and everyday I’m growing as a person, so thank you for those who see the good in me. I’m not just a character on an entertainment reality tv show I’m also a human being with real emotions, some of the stuff I’ve seen said about me has been hard to deal with and they are the furthest thing from the truth.

“I questioned why people would do these things and it was getting me nowhere as I couldn’t understand and is something I would never do to somebody else but what’s kept me grounded is movement. Running, training, pushing myself when everything in my head feels heavy. It clears my mind, helps me breathe, reminds me of who I am outside of the noise.

“If you’re struggling mentally, I get it. I really do. You don’t have to have it all figured out just find that one thing that brings you back to yourself and take it one step at a time.”

Dejon has been approached for comment.
