Sorry to say it, these Love Islanders’ tattoos are god awful and you can’t change my mind
One of them has their own name tattooed across their back
There are a few things we can get guaranteed from a new season of love island: Drama (I mean fights, breakups – and I don’t just mean with the bean bags), deep and meaningful conversations, contestants with amazing tattoos.
Alright, the last two were lies, kind of. Throughout Love Island history, we’ve seen contestant after contestant with tattoos that just make the audience wonder, “What on earth?”.
It’s become so wide spread that there’s even a whole conversation on TikTok determining which contestants tattoos “deserve prison”. Yikes. Let’s take a look at the worst Love Island USA tattoos – and who deserves dumping because of them.
Ace
It would be silly not to start with Ace. He has quite a few tattoos, the majority of which have more shading than the Amazon rainforest. This being said, there is one tattoo that has garnered quite the attention (and irritation) from fans, which are the tattoos stemming from his name.
The first of these is a playing card tattoo on his right arm – it’s by no means a bad tattoo, if a little cliche, but what takes the cake is his back tattoo, which says his own name on it. For this, I have no words. I mean, at least it makes him easier to follow on camera when he’s turned around?

Wowing. Out of all Love Island USA tattoos, this is defo the boldest.
Austin

Now for a less controversial take. Austin has some fairly generic tattoos, including one dedicated to his “mom”, which is actually quite sweet. This seems to be the oldest of his tattoos, with the others’ being around a year old by now. He has two matching cherub tattoos, the first is by the tattoo dedicated to his mum, and depicts a traditional cherub holding a bow and arrow. The opposite angel, on the other pec as it were, is a cherub holding a gun. One TikTok user even asks “why does that child that?”, and we’re asking the same thing.
To top it off, that isn’t even the most questionable tattoo of Austin’s. On the left side of his stomach, there’s a tattoo of a woman, with her underwear visible, as she sips from a Starbucks cup. One TikTok user called this tattoo “truly atrocious”, and we can’t help but nod along silently. One has to wonder what is the meaning behind this tattoo, and why did he get it?
Taylor

Taylor’s tattoo’s a little more of an odd collection, with one pec covered with a bible verse, and the other with a reference to a line from Planet of the Apes. It says “Ape shall not kill Ape”, which is obviously about pacifism and remaining united, but surely he could have used another phrase?

Joining the Islanders later, this bombshell has quite the stack of tattoos. The most prominent of which is the massive tattoo of Heath Ledger’s Joker, accompanied with a “HAHAHAHA”. Nothing quite says you’re stuck in the 2010’s like idolising a murderous clown character.
Jalen

Jalen’s tattoo’s seem to lack a coherent theme, with a tiger on his shoulder, and “OVO” tattooed across his lower torso, possibly a reference to Drake’s record label. There is one tattoo however, that makes Jalen look like a tourist. The tattoo on his forearm written in either Mandarin or Chinese, however it’s translation is unknown. Let’s hope it’s something philosophical or prophetic, rather than anything else.
Olandria

It’s not just the boys with the bad tattoos though, because it seems that Olandria has a tattoo written in Arabic which has garnered a lot of confusion from the audience. One Redditor attempted a translation, claiming that Olandria’s tattoo was essentially “gibberish”. They commented “it’s nonsense in Arabic. I think she was going for ‘Don’t lose her’, but what she has written is the equivalent of ‘Don’t lose for the her’.” I mean, I guess she’s close enough?
I know the rule is “Don’t judge a book by its cover”, but I’m pretty confident that I know everything I need to know about the Islanders based on their tattoos… Well, it can only get better right?
