Introducing Leeds’ Biggest Name on Campus 2024/25: Muaz Zaman
The votes are finally in, and here’s your winner
After a tense competition in the polls, the results are in, and the long-anticipated winner of this year’s Biggest Name on Campus can be revealed as Muaz Zaman!
From the start, the polls were tight. Just two votes separated Muaz and his fellow competitor, Dan, in the semi-final.
For the final, however, there was a huge increase in votes, and Muaz was able to secure the majority by a landslide of 67 per cent.
The win was a huge surprise for the fourth year aeronautical and aerospace engineering student, who said he feels “very validated” and “gassed” about the victory. For Muaz, the title of Biggest Name on Campus was no small feat.
“I feel like Princess Diana,” he said.
Despite the acclaim, Muaz remains humble and thankful for his friends and everyone else who’s made this win possible: “It means the world, and I’m grateful for everyone who I’m surrounded by.”
Regarding plans for celebration, Muaz is keen to share the buzz with his fellow students. So, he’s planning on hosting a meet and greet at Leeds University Union.
For some insight into the mindset of this year’s BNOC, we asked Muaz if he had any advice for the readers of The Leeds Tab. He answered: “Expect nothing and never be disappointed.” If it works for him, it could work for you!
Following his win, Muaz is excited for the future. Before he graduates, he’d like to make the most of his time left in Leeds. Hopefully, he can “avoid the paparazzi” while hitting up his favourite spots around the city.
Maybe you’ll spot this year’s BNOC in the Union or about town, and maybe next year – it could be you!
