It’s time for the final vote: Who will be Lancaster’s BNOC 2024/25?
Decide who will be crowned Lancaster Uni’s Biggest Name on Campus for 2025
It’s here. It’s time. It’s the finale. Lancaster icons have battled it out through heats and round votings, but the final three need you to decide who is the official Biggest Name on Campus for 2025.
Unsure on who to bestow the crown upon? All you need do now is to read the statements by the three finalists and vote in the poll below before it closes at 9am on Friday 23rd May.
Oil Stephens: Fourth year, Furness
Our first finalist Oli was nominated for his ability to get on with everyone and for his role on the executive for Lancaster University Medicine Society.
Oli told us that making its to the finals has been “so fun I’m very grateful to have been nominated that is so sweet and I am also very grateful everyone has been so down to vote and ask me about it in person”.
Oli further said: “I would LOVE to win BNOC just so I can have my ‘Cheryl nipping to the garage for a pint of milk’ moment. But seriously, it would mean the world to be recognised for being a little too involved in everything, knowing too many people’s star signs, and being the reason my flatmates and I can’t make it through Sainsbury’s without a surprise catch-up with someone I sort of know from somewhere.”

Kelcey Pedley: Third year, County
Our second Lancaster icon, Kelcey was nominated for her role in creating the women’s football team, Dale Street United.

When asked about making it to the final three, Kelcey said: “It just shows how our silly little football team has made itself into something massive on campus, making people laugh, raising money for charity, and just showing how huge women really are.”
She also said: “It’s been amazing to see support from everyone – not just friends and teammates, but everyone who has loved us this year and it constantly reminds me how great the Lancs community is! Even being amongst these other big names just shows I did something right this year, so thank you for the support – women for the win.”

Jacob (also known as Yacob): Third year, Pendle
Our final Lancaster icon is Jacob. Jacob was nominated for his unmatched dedication to Spoons reviews, ensuring that Lancs students are the best informed when selecting their affordable establishment of choice.

Jacob said winning would “mean a lot, especially for my spoons visits and I’m glad I can find the best spoons for everyone to visit”.
