All nine seasons of The Office (at least, all five good seasons of The Office) are full of unexpectedly sweet romantic moments. Who can forgot the sheer magic of Michael proposing to Holly? Or the sheer weirdness Dwight and Angela getting married in their graves? Here’s a look at the real love lives of The Office cast beyond the show. So many of their spouses had fun cameos in The Office.

Yup. Nancy Carell turned up to an acting improv class that Steve Carell was teaching. They got married in 1995, and have two kids together. Nancy Carell pops up in several episodes of The Office as Carol Stills (the real estate agent who sells him a condo then inexplicably goes out with him for a while). I’m guessing her character’s name is a pun on her real-life surname?

The couple got married in 2010 (just after season six of The Office finished airing). They have two daughters together. John and Emily worked on the A Quiet Place movies together. They also hosted a web series during the 2020 lockdown called Some Good News in which they interviewed virtually every The Office cast member. He even got ordained so they could host a virtual Office-themed wedding / cast reunion for a couple who got engaged in the same way as Jim and Pam did. I’m not making this up.

Remember when Pam gives birth to Cece, and there’s that weird unfunny scene in which the lactation consultant touches Pam’s breasts and Jim finds it awkward? The whole moment makes way more sense once you learn that it exists so Jenna Fischer’s real-life husband can have a cameo. Lee Kirk is a filmmaker who Jenna met on the set of his film The Giant Mechanical Man. The couple have two children together.

Yup, Ryan Howard and Kelly Kapoor’s relationship on The Office was just a thinly-veiled version of BJ Novak and Mindy Kaling’s real on-again, off-again romance. Once your eyes are opened to all this lore, you’ll never watch their scenes on The Office in the same way again. BJ Novak called their relationship “a tumultuous romantic toxic boundaryless mess”. Years after The Office wrapped filming, Mindy Kaling told InStyle, “He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend. I guess you could describe our relationship as ‘romantically charged camaraderie with loud argument,’ but I don’t think Facebook would accept this as a new status.”

The pair remain super close, and The Office fans were speculating about whether they were still in some form of realtionship. But the news dropped this week that BJ Novak is finally in a public relationship… with a TikTok actor.

The actor who plays Kevin got married in 2014. His wife Celeste Ackelson is a decade younger than him, and reportedly works in fashion. The ceremony took place in his garden in Los Angeles, and pretty much the whole cast of The Office was there. Nawwww. Their daughter Brylee Bea Baumgartner was born in 2015.
