It’s lowkey the general consensus from any fan of The White Lotus that season three has been the least beloved and most divisive out of all the ones so far. It just hasn’t really hit like the others did, and I personally blame the notable lack of Jennifer Coolidge for this. One of the main criticisms levied at The White Lotus season three is that despite the fact its had incest and full frontal nudity – is that this season is just plain boring. Never one to take this lying down, The White Lotus creator Mike White clapped back at those who said season three was boring with a truly wild response.

Speaking on the official podcast for The White Lotus, Mike White responded to the criticism that the show had got boring in season three in stereotypical Mike White fashion. “There was complaining about how there was no plot, and that part I find weird because it never … part of me is just like, bro. This is the vibe.

Erm, I will actually. But still, quite refreshing albeit jarring to hear the creator of one of the biggest TV shows on air right now talk extremely frankly about the art of edging. Although I do actually fall into the camp of those who think The White Lotus season three was a bit boring – not because it was slower or anything, just because I found it wholly less engaging than the two before it.

I think that is lowkey the burden of making an anthology TV show. People are going to have preferences and compare them, naturally.
