What happens next with Paul after the MAFS Australia wall punch scandal and bits the show cut

There was a lot of behind the scenes talk about if he should be removed from the show

Last night we saw the aftermath of an argument between MAFS Australia 2025 couple Paul and Carina, which ended in the “wall punch” scandal. After Carina said she’d slept with a rapper who was on the radio, Paul returned to their apartment and punched a hole in the wall.

After his outburst, Paul apologised to Carina, and then told the group what had happened at the following dinner party. It’s since been revealed the rapper in question is apparently Quavo, and now there’s an entire police investigation into what went down between Paul and Carina.

But what happens next? Will the couple be forced to leave? When the show aired in Australia there were calls for Paul to be removed, and some producer conversations were cut from the show. So, here’s a full rundown of what happens in the direct aftermath of the Paul wall punch scandal in MAFS Australia 2025.

Producers intervened to check Carina was ok

In the aftermath of the Paul wall punch scandal, we saw him leave the MAFS Australia apartment he shared with Carina. He then returned and the couple spoke about what happened. In this moment, Carina said she felt safe to share a room with him.

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Carina had chats with producers off-screen, who checked she felt as though she wanted to continue. An insider said producers “had to intervene” to ask Carina if she felt safe, which she did, before “repairing the damage he’d done to their apartment.”

Paul does not get removed from the experiment

When the incident first aired in Australia, there were calls for Paul to be removed from the show. However, he did not get taken away from the experiment. “He should be removed immediately – this is not entertainment anymore,” a viewer said.

2024 bride Lauren Dunn posted on Instagram and said it was a “seriously dark day for MAFS”. She added: “[I’m] appalled that the group didn’t hold his feet to the fire in the STRONGEST way and appalled that Carina was allowed to stay in this extremely unsafe situation.”

There was apparently a lot of talk behind the scenes as to whether Paul should be removed at the time, but given Carina expressed a wish to continue, he was not.

But the experts give him a stern telling off

In the next commitment ceremony, Paul gets a stern telling off from the experts when he sits on the couch with Carina. John Aiken straight up asks him why he should be kept on the show. He brands Paul’s behaviour “toxic”.

The couple recount the story of their argument and Paul’s reaction, and the experts are disturbed by what they hear. Alessandra asks Paul why he judged Carina on her past, and he denies that’s what happened. She later tells him there’s no excuse for punching walls, “period”.

Carina later says that whilst she does not condone Paul’s behaviour, they are still learning each other’s boundaries. She claims that his reaction proves Paul has strong feelings for her and blames it on them being “passionate Europeans.”

Mel and Alessandra then immediately jump in. They make it clear this is absolutely not normal behaviour in a relationship.

“This is not how you show love. This is deeply troubling,” Mel says. John adds: “This is toxic, inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour that you must see now.  Frankly, I don’t feel very good about this. I want you to tell us why the three experts should not kick you out of the experiment right now.”

Paul is visibly upset, and the couple vote to stay. It’s then on to the couples’ retreat.
