MAFS’ Jeff and Rhi address the messy Jacqui text drama and reveal what actually went down

It all kicked off between Jeff, Rhi and Jacqui on MAFS Australia, and the couple revealed what really went down in interviews after the show.

The drama started when Jacqui messaged Jeff asking to meet up privately without Rhi there, and the leaked texts show what was actually said.

Speaking to Nine, Jeff explained: “Basically, [Jacqui] wanted to catch up with me for a coffee and have a chat.”

“I obviously told Rhi straight away, I thought it was a bit strange because before that text, I had only spoken to her maybe twice. Maybe her intentions were harmless, but I thought it was also very strange at the same time.”

In the same interview, Rhi said she found the whole thing “quite odd” because she hadn’t argued with Jacqui beforehand.

“I just thought, why couldn’t I be there to support her as well? It did make me feel quite uncomfortable. I’m pretty sure anyone would feel odd in that situation,” she explained.

Jeff said the text didn’t have much “context” and he had no idea what it was really about, so his first thought was to go and make sure Jacqui was alright.

However, the groom admitted that he should have gone through Rhi, or better still, Jacqui should have reached out to Rhi instead of him. He said: ”

“I just think she [Jacqui] didn’t go about it the right way,” he said.

“I feel like just a ‘sorry’ would have been great right there and then. To be like, ‘Sorry about that, this is what my intentions were,” Rhi added. Apparently, Jacqui does apologise, but not until the next dinner party.

“It could have been something that I maybe brought up in private, but I think after the things that were going on at the table, I thought, stuff it, this is the time – I’m going to say something.”

Rhi also told Daily Mail Australia the whole thing was “blown up a little bit bigger than it really needed to be”.

“Yes, we brought up that I didn’t like the fact that she wanted to catch up with Jeff without me there. That was my main issue. But it just kept getting bigger and bigger than it needed to be,” she explained.

Plus, Jeff slammed viewers who think he and Rhi were wrongly getting involved in Jacqui and Ryan’s business.

‘There’s been a few comments made that we kept dragging their relationship, putting ourselves into their drama – which is a lie. We stayed completely out of it. It was them continuously bringing us into it,” he said.

It looks like this season is finally heating up.
