Ugh, ‘jealous and livid’ MAFS cast is beefing and it’s all over a stupid brand trip with Jamie

I can hear Jacqui crying from nine thousand miles away

The cast of MAFS Australia season 12 are allegedly beefing with one another over a trip to New Zealand and the one cast member who was lucky enough to receive an invite.

Sure, the happy couples are a cherry on top of the MAFS viewing experience but, to be honest, I primarily watch the show and those like it for the drama. From the podcaster challenging John Aiken to Jacqui Burfoot’s obviously fake crying, this season has already provided lots of eye-roll moments.

Now it seems that the cast is beefing off the show and it has everything to do with a brand trip to New Zealand.

Jamie Marinos was given an invite to the MAFS New Zealand trip

Jamie Marinos

Last year, 2024 cast member Lucinda was lucky enough to be invited on a promotional tour to Tasmania. According to the MailOnline, she received lots of attention for it and her career was given a boost. Naturally, this year’s cast wanted the same opportunity but only Jamie Marinos was flown out.

Shocker, Jacqui isn’t happy and while we don’t know if she’s fake crying about it, an insider did note: “Jacqui Burfoot was convinced that she was going to be the one sent to New Zealand because she is a Kiwi.”

Other cast members such as Awhina knew it was always going to be Jamie because “she was the star of the show.”

“Awhina was always telling everyone that it was going to be Jamie and that she was the star of the show, but she still held onto hope that she would be chosen,” another source said.

Even the grooms are miffed, with a source close to Adrian Araouzou revealing how he’d been “going around telling everyone that he was the star of the show and that he should be the one heading to NZ.” Dave Hand also wanted to be included.

Look, New Zealand is beautiful but it’s hardly Bali – calm down.

Jamie said she didn’t even want to go

There’s nothing like rubbing salt in the wound and Jamie basically poured an entire box of Maldon on her fellow MAFS stars by admitting that she never really wanted to go to New Zealand.

“To be honest, I didn’t even know this was a thing. I had no idea people go to New Zealand, so it was a very random call. I wasn’t gunning for it, I didn’t ask for it,” she told the publication. “I had no idea someone even goes to New Zealand. But I don’t make the rules, I don’t choose, and so I’m just grateful that I had this opportunity.”

She ultimately had a great trip to New Zealand and met actors Rebecca Gibney and Tammy Davis who she’d idolised for years.

“It’s honestly been incredible being in New Zealand. Everyone has been so kind and welcoming. I feel very honoured to have been chosen to come and represent the cast,” she said. “I grew up watching them on my screen and now they’re fangirling over me! It’s just such a full-circle moment.”
