Aimee Lou Wood’s on-screen husband in The White Lotus majorly gushes about working with her

Aimee Lou Wood has quickly become everyone’s favourite actress in The White Lotus, and her on-screen husband loves her too. Maybe a little too much.

She plays a free-spirited young woman called Chelsea who is married to Rick, a super grumpy man who is much older than her.

Rick is played by Walton Goggins, and he has gushed about working with Aimee on the HBO series in an interview with People.

“As soon as we got to Thailand, we started to hang out, and we became very close very quickly,” he said.

Goggings revealed she was the “person that mattered most” to him during the whole filming experience, even though his friends were in Koh Samui too.

“We both became meshed in each other the way that Rick and Chelsea are,” the actor continued. “I think the world of her.”

Goggins is happily married to his wife Nadia Conners so wasn’t referring to a romantic relationship, but he certainly seems very fond of Aimee.

It might not seem like it, but Rick is actually very in love with Chelsea in The White Lotus.

Speaking about how they planned their intimate scene to Elle, Aimee said: “We were like, ‘This is what we think should happen. This is why we think it’s important.’ Because we don’t see a lot of tenderness from Rick to Chelsea the rest of the time.”

“So we have to make sure that when they’re physical and intimate in that way, that you see the love. We don’t want it to be like a f***ing gratuitous [intimate scene]. We wanted it to be very tender.”

Goggins defended relationships like Chelsea and Rick’s with a big age gap in an interview with The Telegraph, saying: “Why would you care if two people find peace and a modicum of joy out of another human being?”

“What does it matter to you? I don’t care, I like to see people happy together.”
