Kim Kardashian just took a wig off to reveal her real, frazzled hair underneath and it’s… not what we expected. She’s always looking glam to the nines thanks to her hairdresser, Chris Appleton, but she got seriously real when she decided to expose her true looks. She wasn’t even wearing make-up for the confessional reveal.

Kim Kardashian had dark black sleek hair – or so we thought. Before she took her wig off, Chris Appleton made sure she always looked glamorous, whether she’s filming a confessional for The Kardashians or getting photographed on the red carpet. In recent years, she went blonde, and shocked us with a new bob haircut in the last few days.

She’s talking in a confessional on The Kardashians season 6 premiere, when she suddenly rips off a black sleek wig and reveals a tiny, blonde, frazzled bun. Just before making the shock reveal, she wore a black Balenciaga hat to hide the edge of the wig, while at her sister Kourtney’s birthday breakfast at an IHOP in Los Angeles. Her mom, Kris Jenner, sister Khloé, and several of Kourtney’s friends were there.

The episode was filmed weeks before she debuted her platinum blonde hair at the Met Gala in 2024. Two years ago, Kim openly spoke about her hair possibly falling out after enduring a 14-hour bleaching session to achieve Marilyn Monroe’s iconic look for the 2022 event, but even a while on, she’s still struggling to keep her hair in tip-top condition. Now, she’s just cut the whole thing off, and I don’t blame her.

Back in 2023, Kim said her hair was thinning, and now people are saying her hair has “literally burned off”. She switches between blonde and black hair throughout The Kardashians season 6, joking that she’ll keep viewers guessing what her real hair color actually is. Kim revealed: “I’m currently wearing a wig to conceal my blonde transformation. My hair is blonde. I am in the process of dying my hair for the Met.”

She debuted her garden-esque look on the Met Gala just weeks later, where her hair did look a little frazzled. The idea was that she’d quickly shoved on a boyfriend’s cardigan to tend to the garden while it was raining, which is why her barnet looked a little frizzy, but it was all done on purpose!
