Former The Traitors winner unveils some logistic secrets about how the final is filmed

They’re still filming at what time?!

The Traitors is almost over once again and it looks like it’s going to be a juicy ending after Frankie won the challenge and became the brand new “Seer”.

Nothing can ever top Molly finding out Harry was a traitor all along in season two, but Charlotte’s brutal takedown of Minah and Freddie was a great watch.

The show always ends with a final banishment and round table before the remaining finalists must all agree to end the game when they think no traitors are left.

Meryl, who won The Traitors series one alongside Aaron and Hannah, has revealed some behind-the-scenes secrets about what happens on the final day.

Speaking to The Express via Betway, she said: “It just all becomes more real. Like the money was something that always felt unachievable and out of reach, but as we approached the final week we were like ‘right we could actually do this you know!”

“So then we all started pushing even more, trying even harder in the missions to bring up the prize pot and clock onto anything and everything that potential traitors were giving away as clues.”

She added that the final round table “takes a couple of hours” and they have to “move around quite a bit”. Plus, the contestants have to wait until it’s dark to shoot the final scenes – and that is super late.

“So, part of it was recorded inside, and then we had to go outside and back in again. Also, we had to wait until it was dark. All of the outdoor scenes didn’t happen until 11/12pm. It just doesn’t get dark in Scotland in the summer!”

If filming doesn’t even start until about midnight, that means the final fire scenes are still going on well into the early hours of the morning. What a long day!

Season three began filming in May 2024 around Ardross Castle, which is about a 30-minute drive north of Inverness. It’s always filmed in the summer, but it was obviously very chilly in Scotland last year because the contestants have been wearing coats and hats in the challenges.
