Dane DeHaan confesses the hardest part of filming American Primeval and I’m shocked

Dane DeHaan was an undoubted star in Netflix’s brand new show, American Primeval. He stole the show as young pioneer Jacob Pratt, and I think everyone would agree it was an incredibly tough role to pull off. In between all the violence, gore and blood of American Primeval, Dane DeHaan opened up about the “intense challenge” that was filming this show, including what he considered to be the hardest part of filming.

The Independent interviewed Dane DeHaan, who plays Jacob Pratt in American Primeval. He explained that filming was “intense” for him.

“There is a lot that went into this, it was a very intense, solitary journey. I was alone by myself for a lot of the shoot. The way Pete [creator] works is in a very free-flowing improvisational way so it’s always important for me to show up prepared, but on this set I needed to be fully prepared in the mindset of of this guy,” he explained.

“I love doing what I do, I love challenging myself in different ways, and every once in a while it feels like I’m in the place to tackle something like this. But it wouldn’t be healthy for me to do it every single time.”

“The challenges of this role are pretty obvious when you watch it.”

Dane also said that it would be “really hard” for him to play roles like this “all the time”  but he enjoys roles that help him “get better at acting.”
