The five best Christmassy things to do in Cambridge
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
Although Bridgemas is technically behind us, it’s now December, so Christmas in Cambridge has now officially started!
We’ve only got a few days left of term, so get ready for a speed-run of all the best Christmas things to do in Cambridge before it’s too late…
Ice-skating at the Christmas Market
The rink at the Christmas Market is surprisingly large, with gorgeous views of the lights of the market at night. It makes for a perfect evening with friends (even if you’re absolutely terrible at skating like me!)
Get some food at the Christmas Market
The food at the market is also delicious, with churros, brownies and hot chocolate on offer among more…definitely worth a visit. The Market will be on Parker’s Piece until 24th December, so you have plenty of time to check it out.
Explore the Christmas lights around town
The centre of town is absolutely full of gorgeous lights at the moment, from Magdalene Bridge to Market Square, with lots of smaller streets like Sussex Street also looking really beautiful – grab some friends and a phone and curate the perfect Christmas in Cambridge Insta post.
Cook a (late) Bridgemas meal with your friends
Although perhaps a challenge in central college gyps (hill college can’t relate soz xx), air fryers may become your new best friend. Cooking a meal together is a lovely chance to all get together and have a nice stress-free chat for a bit – the perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit!

Get a Jacks’ hot chocolate
If you are intrigued by the sound of a hot chocolate made from waffle cone milk, then Jacks’ is the spot for you! With changing flavours each day (and a vegan option always), a Jacks’ hot chocolate is the perfect thing to get you in the Christmas spirit (and protect you from the cold weather!)
Indulge in all the Cambridge Christmas activities as term ends – you’ve earned it!
