A clip of Gregg Wallace saying a weird comment about female contestant’s pudding resurfaced

A clip of Gregg Wallace making a bizarre pudding comment to a female contestant on MasterChef last week has resurfaced after the news he is stepping away from MasterChef following a series of serious allegations into his conduct yesterday. In the clip, Gregg Wallace tells a contestant he’s going to ‘munch the living daylights’ out of her pudding. He also just last week told another female contestant he would “smash the living daylights” out of her rice pudding.

Yesterday, the BBC announced that an investigation by TV chiefs was underway following misconduct allegations – where 13 people have lodged complaints regarding his behaviour on the set of MasterChef.

Resurfaced comments Gregg Wallace has made on set are doing the rounds, including the below regarding a female contestant’s pudding.

In the clip, Gregg Wallace says “I find it quite pleasant. Left to my own devices I’d probably munch the living daylights out of your, your little tart.” The shocked contestant then replies saying “Excuse me?”

In a clip that aired as recently as last week, Gregg Wallace told contestant Chiara that he would ‘smash’ her pudding, after she made a koji fermented rice pudding with a blackcurrant compote.

Gregg Wallace told her “I really like the flavours, it’s slightly oaty, slightly nutty, slightly sweet. Oh, I’ll smash the living daylights out of that yogurt ice cream. It’s got sourness, slight bit of sweetness, and it’s almost got a blackcurrant apple finish. It’s really quite delightful.”

Gregg Wallace yesterday posted a video on his Instagram where he thanked people for their support following the allegations. In a video posted on his Instagram yesterday captioned “guess that meeting didn’t go as planned”, Gregg Wallace said “I would like to thank all the people getting in touch, reaching out and showing their support. It’s good of you. Thank you very much.”
