What The Sex and The City characters would get up to if they attended Bristol Uni
Your favourite on-screen friend group comes to Bristol
Sex and the City is making a huge comeback for the 20-somethings amongst us. The four are the ultimate girl group, but each one of them has a slightly different vibe which makes them perfect for a Buzz feed quiz, but also resembles what you’d find amongst Bristol students.
So, we couldn’t help but wonder… what would each character be like if they attended the University of Bristol? Who would be the it-girl, who has the best Bristol wardrobe, and what would be their pub of choice?
Firstly, it is pretty unanimous that the four would have their debriefs at the East Village Cafe. The role of technology has definitely complicated the dating world they once conquered and a typing notification in response to a drunken snap would send them into a frenzy.
1. Carrie
Course: English
1st year accommodation: Riverside
Library of choice: the ASS.
Society: Carrie would love trying out all the student union has to offer, she’d go to Salsa classes, Cocktail Society, Book Club and just about everything in-between. And then she would find some way to philosophise them in an article.
Favourite club night: Somewhere that isn’t on the triangle, Blue Lagoon or Love Inn. She would take the girls to this new amazing spot she’d found for meeting edgier UOB or UWE boys. Although, she would keep going back to her toxic finance boy as a classic self-saboteur. He would call her up after a night out on the triangle and she would let him in with open arms (his name is defo not Mr Big).
First date spot: She’d be at Cargo Cantina in Wapping Wharf or Batida, anywhere she can get her hands on a cosmopolitan.
Most Read
Bristol type: Carrie would always go for the rugby players, she’d meet them in the club and fall in love only to later discover the 25 mutuals on Instagram.
Carrie would be a Tab writer, of course, and out of the four she would embrace the Bristol uniform the most, with a collection of sambas and skinny scarves.
2. Charlotte
Course: History of art
1st year accommodation: Goldney
Library of choice: The engineering or medical library trying to find her future husband.
Society: She would be an active member of the Art History Society, and a member yoga or pilates society too.
Favourite club night: Anywhere on the triangle, probably La Rocca.
First date spot: The White Lion in Clifton
Bristol type: Charlotte would probably go for the fifth years because they’re ‘more mature’.
She definitely said ‘I want to be engaged by graduation’ at some point during her studies at Bristol.
3. Samantha
Course: Business studies
1st year accommodation: Hiatt Baker
Library of choice: The side room in Beacon House.
Society: She’d be in some kind of sport society purely for the social aspect, tickets to the ski trip and ILOVETOUR are bought.
Favourite club night: She would thrive in the Thekla smoking area but is also the ultimate shark, so Utopia Mondays at Brass Pig would be her thing.
First date spot: Vittoria – simple but effective.
Bristol type: Samantha would be Queen of Hinge, she’s not one to discriminate but she would eventually settle down unexpectedly with a BIMM student who’s the next big thing. Of course never retiring from her Wednesday nights.
She is here for the uni, not the university life.
4. Miranda
Course: Law
1st year accommodation: Orchard Heights
Library of choice: Wills memorial
Society: Intramural hockey or netball.
Favourite club night: You’d catch her at a house, flat party or a classic OMG night.
First date spot: If Miranda was a UK girlie she would enjoy the pub scene, she would frequent anywhere that offers pizza and a pint.
Bristol type: Miranda would be partial to a UWE boy, Filton is the new Brooklyn.
She definitely met Steve when he was working at a bar on Gloucester Road.
