Skiing down Forum Hill: How Exeter students spent their time in the snow
Exe-mas came early
After snow hitting all of the north and the midlands, the south finally saw some snow.
On Thursday 21st November, Exeter woke up to heavy snow outside their doorstep, their streets and on their campus. Although there were road closures and disruptions to locals’ travel, this didn’t stop students having their fun.
So, here’s everything Exeter Uni students got up to during their snow day.

Students from Snow Sports society saw the snow and took the opportunity to turn it into their own mini ski holiday.
With Forum Hill used for snow sports events, like Chill Hill in February, this iconic spot seemed to be the most appropriate location for students to shred some slopes.
The skiing students were doing flips and tricks down the hill, some pretty impressive stuff, if I say so myself.

Following on from treating Forum Hill like Val-d’Isère, the snow sports students found other hills around campus to go skiing.

With Exeter being a very hilly place, it was easy for them to find miniature ski slopes. Students skied down the hills outside Lafrowda and East Park, and they even had a mini crowd watching them ski.
Trust Exeter students to find anyway to make an event about skiing.
Snowball fights

Of course, it wouldn’t be a snow day without students throwing snowballs at one another. This took place all across campus and with Exeter not getting a lot of snow, we had to make the most of it!
Making snowmen
Around campus, students made multiple snowmen. There were miniature snowmen spotted on top of the University of Exeter rock by Washington Singer building, along with bigger snowmen being built outside the building. Outside student halls, there were many snowmen being built with decorations and scarves.
