Notts Talk to Tabitha volume six: Little fires everywhere
From fire alarm set-offs to tinder blaze-outs, we’ve got a lot to discuss this weekend
Happy weekend, Tab readers. If the cold weather’s starting to get you down, then read on – there’s some serious heat to deal with this week. Let’s dive right into it.
‘Set off the fire alarm in my block this morning after burning toast’ – Firebird
Oh Firebird. Thank you for sharing your story.
In a way, you’ve fulfilled an essential part of the uni experience for many people. Anyone who’s lived in shared accommodation that tells you they never had a fire-alarm go off is lying to you. Simple as that.
I’ve got to ask though. How high were the toaster settings? Perhaps this is just my personal taste, but I don’t enjoy eating carbon. I might suggest turning that bad boy down a little, the next time you’re craving some toast.
Swallow your pride and it’ll become a funny story by next week. No hard feelings, I’m sure. After all, someone had to do it.
All the best,
Tabitha x
‘Not getting many matches on Tinder. Any advice?’ – Panda
Hello Panda! Good to hear from you.
We’ve all been there. Tinder is very hit and miss at best.
I was never really that good at Tinder, to be honest with you. So I’m not sure if I’m really qualified to give good Tinder advice. I always thought Hinge was superior anyway, so maybe try that if you haven’t yet.
But, if these apps aren’t working for you, I’d recommend just trying to get out there instead! Join a club or a society where you can meet a lot of people and you never know who you’ll find.

Perseverance is key. I find romance often comes about when you least expect it to, so don’t get disheartened. Keep going!
I wish you well,
