Person dies following ‘serious incident’ at University station in Birmingham
Police confirmed the unidentified casualty was found on the tracks
One person has died on the train line following a “serious incident” at Birmingham’s University station near Selly Oak.
The British Transport Police confirmed that officers were called to the station on Saturday 16th November at 2:50pm, following reports that there was a casualty on the tracks. The person has not yet been identified.
According to Dudley News, trains faced severe disruptions and cancellations between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge. Services have now resumed as normal.
A spokesperon for the police said: “Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased.
“The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
