What we know about the MAFS UK Christmas reunion, from release date to who’s been axed

Ross is reportedly dodging phone calls from production

With Married at First Sight UK now officially over, love-struck fans are now eagerly awaiting news of the special Christmas reunion episode.

We hate to see it go but MAFS UK has officially ended after the climactic reunion saw several missing cast members, confessions of love, and arguments that producers left out the juiciest drama. But true fans of the international franchise know that the show is not officially over until the special Christmas reunion – so when is it?

It’s officially happening

Each year, the MAFS UK participants come together once again after months away from the drama-fueled dining table. Passions are reignited, feuds are cranked to the max, and there’s always one or two kisses beneath the mistletoe.

As of November 15, the powers that be at Channel 4 are yet to announce the official date for the MAFS UK Christmas reunion, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Unfortunately, previous installations don’t point to an obvious launch date as last year’s was on February 26, 2022’s on December 11, and 2021’s on August 22 of the following year.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun: “Producers are shooting another Christmas special, bringing back some of the biggest MAFS faces from this series and the previous one.”

So, who’s going?

Unfortunately, the upcoming addition might look a bit different to what MAFS UK fans are used to as producers struggle to reel back this year’s contestants. In particular, Ross is reportedly dodging phone calls after hard launching his new beaux.

The source explained: “He has been avoiding production’s calls and won’t commit. Bosses aren’t giving up and will keep trying to persuade him, but as of right now, he wants to move past the show and focus on his new relationship.

“It’s a real blow for the production as the end of series reunion filmed before the latest run started airing, so they wanted to get back all the biggest characters to delve into the various dramas and feuds that have developed between the cast while the show has gone out on TV.”

Outside of Ross, insiders suggest that numerous cast members have refused to return as production considers bringing back former contestants to make up the numbers. Both Ross McCarthy and Luke Debono have reportedly been axed from the special.

“Sadly, not everyone has got an invite and that includes one of this year’s final grooms standing, Luke,” the source claimed. “Luke was gutted to not be asked because he was part of the four couples who lasted until final vows and so he’s taken it as a snub that he didn’t make the cut.”

Only one thing is for certain, scandal will be central to the upcoming Christmas reunion.
