People are losing their minds over an insane optical illusion of six women sitting on sofa
This is actually hurting my brain
Optical illusions are not for the easily frustrated, and this latest viral brain teaser has me floored. People online are going insane over an optical illusion of six women sitting on a sofa. What’s the catch? There are only five pairs of legs.
The picture was uploaded to Reddit over eight years ago, but nobody has ever been able to firmly solve the illusion. The six women are all posing very normally for a picture, yet it’s an absolute mystery how one pair of legs has completely disappeared.
People have been theorising about how this image works for years, but nobody has come to a conclusion yet. In the original picture’s thread, somebody wrote: “The second girl’s legs are behind the first girl’s legs.” This would mean the girl who is sat second from the left is hiding her legs behind the girl farthest on the left. Can I see that? No. But that’s what makes this an impossible brain teaser.
Did somebody on Reddit solve the mystery?
I guess there are some geniuses left on Reddit because somebody may have actually debunked the picture once and for all. They tagged the picture above for reference and wrote an explanation accompanying it.

Those legs are blending together. (Follow that tear down, there’s a split where there’s a sock on the right and not on the left. Number 2 has a tear in her knee and a visible white sock) Numbers 2 and 3 are leaning way over. It’s easier to visualize if you picture #3 with her hand on the seat behind #4’s back to hold herself up.”
It actually makes a lot of sense with the diagram, so maybe we can finally put this mystery to bed for good.
