Fakery rows and set up scandals: All the evidence MAFS UK 2024 was staged
I can’t believe we ever thought this was real
Every year we question if MAFS UK is staged – and the 2024 series has had more moments to prove this than ever. The cast themselves have said the show is set up. Editing errors have been rolling in. And over and over, conversations have been chopped up and forced.
So, whilst we love the show for its mess and unparalleled drama – here’s a rundown of all the evidence MAFS UK 2024 has been staged from start to finish.
Caspar started a fakery row after he said his scenes were shown in the wrong order
Caspar threw everything into chaos, when he called out the show for making him come across badly. He said this happened because his scenes were shown to the audience in a completely different order to what happened in real life.
During Love/Hate week, Caspar and Emma were set a task by the MAFS experts, which ended in Caspar making some questionable comments towards his wife. During the chat with Charlene, he spoke about using Emma to improve his “future relationships” – despite the one he’s in right now supposedly being a commitment for life.
Caspar clapped back at the episode, and said his comments were shown “out of chronological order” so it wasn’t all that bad. “Unfortunately this wasn’t shown in chronological order and was the last thing we filmed this week before the dinner party,” he said in an Instagram post.

“The only reason I reacted at the end of this conversation the way I did was as I knew I had nothing left. Emma saying she couldn’t be emotionally vulnerable with me left me little to no room to move forward. I will never be a man to want physical intimacy without emotional too. I think love needs both.”
Orson was seen at the first dinner party, and then entered the room again
There have been plenty of bad editing errors during the show this year, but only a few of them really show how staged MAFS UK 2024 has been. During the first dinner party, Orson was seen chatting in the main room, before he’d even made his entrance.
His entrance was made a big deal of, because he was without Richelle. But clearly it wasn’t at all a big deal, because we’d already seen him quietly sat down in the room.
Sacha said ‘fake storylines’ were put into the final edit
Sacha posted to say the show had created “fake storylines” regarding her and Ross discussing moving to Walsall. She has claimed, and posted text screenshots to prove, this conversation happened days before the final vows – as viewers saw it.
She said: “We’d already had the conversation, we had our phones back during deliberation week. So why would I be crying thinking he’s not moving? That’s not what I’m going to be crying about is it? Enjoy your spoiler!”
Editing errors proved conversations were shown completely differently
There have been a few times where conversations have clearly been changed, meaning we will never know how things actually happened. Two times during MAFS UK this year, food appearing and disappearing in front of cast members have shown conversations have been highly edited beyond recognition.
The first came when Kieran and Kristina had friends over at their apartment, and plates in front of them went from full to empty multiple times. Then, the same happened with Luke. At the retreat he was shown as eating, then his food went, and then it came back. All of these changes were happening within seconds.
The big scandal at Nathan and Lacey’s wedding was completely staged

A huge part of Nathan and Lacey’s wedding, which at the time was a massive scandal, was completely set up by producers. The big shock was when Lacey’s twin sister and bridesmaid Paige walked down the aisle ahead of her, to which Nathan turned and said “wow” – not realising that actually wasn’t his bride.
It came just after Lacey had said she was insecure that people always thought her sister was better looking than her. But clearly this was set up to play into her insecurities, as The Tab watched back every wedding from the show this year, and during them, the bridesmaids have never walked down the aisle.
At every other wedding there was, the entire audience was in the room and seated, and the only people to walk down the aisle were the bride and groom themselves. Convenient.
Orson and Richelle appeared twice in a clip from a commitment ceremony
One of the worst editing errors of MAFS UK 2024 came when Orson and Richelle were in the room twice at a commitment ceremony. During the episode, the couple were hashing it out on the sofa in front of the experts, but then the camera panned to the rest of the cast to get their shocked reactions, and Orson and Richelle were there too!
What this proved was that producers were using completely different reactions from the rest of the cast for what we were seeing happening. Clearly those reactions were not at all to what Orson and Richelle had said, and were taken from a completely different point in the ceremony.
Amy went on a huge rant at the editing of the show and how it makes things look
Add Amy to the list of cast members calling out the edit. Her scathing rant particularly went in on how the show made her look different. She called it “f*cking bullsh*t” how she’d been made to look, and said it was “unfair” she’d been made out as a “bad person.” She said people on TV need a “game plan” and to be “fake as sh*t for the cameras.”
The final vows were littered with errors
If you listen to Sacha you can hear the line about Walsall is in a totally different tone of voice. It was clearly edited in there and wasn’t how she actually said it #MAFSUK pic.twitter.com/50KAT87utr

I’m not sure anything about the MAFS UK 2024 final vows were real, because there were two huge editing errors to prove otherwise. Firstly, Sacha called out the show for making it look as though she stormed out during her vows because of talks of distance between her and Ross. She said that’s not at all what happened, and she actually cried because producers ruined a surprise she had for him.
An editing error proved this. Sacha gave a voice over which provided some extra context to the vows as they were being said. However, you can tell by her tone of voice going up and down in one sentence, that her voice over has been chopped up with random bits placed in there.
Sacha saying “he doesn’t want to come to Walsall” is in a completely different tone of voice to the rest of the sentence, making it look as though production chucked that line in there to follow the narrative, when it wasn’t actually what she said.
Then – there was a very large problem with Adam and Polly’s vows. One minute it was day time, the next it was dead of night. Make it make sense?
A Channel 4 spokesperson told The Tab: “Whilst what viewers see on screen is condensed into an hour, all broadcast episodes of MAFS UK are a fair and accurate reflection of the events that took place.”
