From Stars Hollow to Love Island: Which reality show the Gilmore Girls cast would go on

I can’t see Rory shouting ‘I’ve got a text!’

Gilmore Girls is the most wholesome of autumnal shows, and I can’t see many of the characters excited to get into the Love Island villa. They lead pretty normal lives down in Stars Hollow, but I could see a few of them making it in the reality TV world if they were on the right show. So, here’s which reality TV show the Gilmore Girls characters would go on if they absolutely had to.

Rory – The Bachelorette

Rory’s world is Rory’s world, and what better place to be the centre of attention than on The Bachelorette? She would love having all those eyes on her and getting to meet lots of different guys before settling down with the one. Except, they’d be the one for about two weeks before she goes running back to “my Dean.” Tell me I’m wrong!

Lorelai – I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of here!

Lorelai is up for anything, and after raising Rory, there’s no challenge she can’t take on. She’d smash I’m a Celebrity, eating any wild thing they put in front of her and tackling the celebrity cyclone head-on. There’s no way she wouldn’t come back from a bushtucker trial with full stars. Plus, what can be worse than having dinner with your estranged parents once a week?

Paris – Selling Sunset

Paris has that serious boss babe energy that only the estate agents on Selling Sunset can bring. She’d fit right in, be a top-selling agent and I just know she’d secretly revel in all the petty dramas that go down. Fierce and fabulous!

Logan – Married At First Sight

via Netflix

Maybe it’s just because he looks like Adam from MAFS UK, but I can’t shake the feeling that Logan would love to sweep a girl off her feet and then slowly reveal his disappointing personality over several weeks. He’s quite the charmer, but he definitely had a lot to learn about the real world and MAFS kicks that learning process into high gear.

Jess – Love Island

Lane – Britain’s Got Talent

Of course Lane and the band would audition for Britain’s Got Talent! Her musical talent is enough said. I reckon she has what it takes to win!

Luke – Gogglebox

I really love the idea of Luke wanting to go on Gogglebox because it’s the least-effort reality TV show required. He’d sneer at other people who watch it at first because why would you want to watch random people react to mainstream television, but he’d end up getting really into it and want to do it himself.

Sookie – The Great British Bake-Off

via Netflix

Out of all the reality shows the Gilmore Girls characters would go on, this one has to be the best call: Sookie would go on The Great British Bake-Off and WIN. She’d slay the technicals but her creativity would shine through in the show-stopper.

Dean – Love Is Blind

via Netflix

Love Is Blind is meant to be some philosophical learning experiment, but you quickly learn everybody who sets foot in the pods is awful. That’s why Dean would be a perfect candidate. Being inherently problematic, the producers would take one look at him and think, “perfect!”
