Aberystwyth University student returns to accom to find his room has been gift-wrapped
Take this as a reminder to lock your door
An Aberystwyth student has returned to his accommodation to find his room has been gift-wrapped.
In a video posted to TikTok, a student called Jake, had his flatmates pull a prank on him after he left his bedroom door unlocked for while he was away for the weekend.
His flatmates show off their handy work as they walk around his room, where they’d gift-wrapped several pieces of furniture, his pillows, bedding, PC, and even the toilet, and shower.
The video, which now has over 100,000 views, also captures Jake’s reaction when he returns to “Flat 95”, as he takes in his beautifully wrapped bedroom and bathroom.
In a first-year flat pranks are not that uncommon, especially if you’ve lucked out and all get on, but it has not stopped the incident from having opposing opinions in the video’s comments.

One user commented: “Nah going into his room without him there is mad disrespectful.”
Another user replied: “Not rlly depends on how close they are and their boundaries.”
Adam also commented: “is this in aber? if this happens to me when i go there next year it’s getting reported”.
However, Jake supposedly had a laugh over it all, as his mate commented: “Yes it’s in aber. He is our friend and found it funny”.
While some viewers thought the prank was controversial, others saw it as harmless, such as Ana who commented, “Whoever thought of this is so funny.”

Whatever your opinion is on this prank it is clear that Jake’s flatmates put a lot of time and effort into setting this up, and it will take just as long for poor Jake to unwrap it.
