A run down of Bournemouth University’s Students’ Union events for Black History Month
Your guide to SUBU’s Black History Month events
A range of events are being ran by the Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) for Black History Month.
Here’s a list of everything you need to know to get involved across October.
So far
On Friday 4th October, there was a carnival around campus. Flags were also put up around SUBU, and students could wear face paint and sequins. Godswill Udo, pictured above, is the Black Students’ Officer who helped run the event.
Upcoming
There’s an abundance of events across October – here’s what’s to come:
- Black History Month Library Display at Sir Michael Cobham Library, Talbot Campus. The display is running from 1st October at 9am to 31st October at 11pm
- Black History Month Paint & Sip on the fifth floor of the Student Centre. The event is running on the 11th October from 2pm to 4pm
- Debate Night in collaboration with the Africa & Caribbean Society. The debate is taking place on the 18th October from 5:30pm to 8pm
- Journeys of Excellence: Insights from Our Black Alumni at the Lawrence Lecture Theatre, Talbot Campus. The event is taking place on 30th October from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
