A vegan world-class violinist: Inside Nikocado Avocado’s insane life before YouTube
Nothing could have prepared me for seeing the before pics tbh
In an Inception level plot twist, mukbang YouTube star Nikocado Avocado fooled the entire internet by revealing that he had lost 250 pounds over the past two years: He’d been posting videos he filmed years before while on an insane weight-loss journey. I don’t think anyone could have predicted this – I know two years is basically ancient history in internet time, but his weight-loss journey is actually an incredible one.
However, if you’ve been a fan of his for a while, you’ll know that the Nikocado the world knows was very different before he hit fame. Everyone’s obsessing over his transformation, but if you scroll down far enough on his channel, you’ll be in for even more of a shock. Here’s an inside look at Nikocado Avocado’s life before he hit his YouTube fame.
Nikocado Avocado was a world-class violinist
In what might be the most random side quest, Nikocado was an insanely decorated violinist, and used to dedicate his YouTube channel to violin covers. There’s a lot of old footage of him playing online, which I would definitely recommend watching.
He actually attended the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama and Art and performed in Carnegie Hall, and moved to New York to pursue his dreams of playing on Broadway. What a different timeline that would have been.
He worked at Home Depot and as a freelance violinist before his YouTube fame
It’s always hard to think about YouTube stars doing normal jobs before they found fame, but Nikocado Avocado was actually a Home Depot worker after finishing college, and did some freelance violinist work on the side.
He used to be a vegan and lifestyle YouTube channel

In the early days of his YouTube channel, Nikocado Avocado made vegan and lifestyle content. He told people to “eat from the earth and you will feel alive” and encouraged veganism. He even admitted that the reason for his strange channel name is because he has “eaten more avocados than any other person I know.”
It’s hard to imagine that type of content now, and he’s pretty much known for his mukbang videos. However, amidst his dramatic reveal where he announced that he’d lost 250 pounds over the last two years, it’s not out of the question that he’d switch up his content. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
