Why Freddie from Love Is Blind UK really isn’t the green flag we all think he is

I have seriously mixed feelings about this guy

Freddie has emerged from Love Is Blind UK as arguably the most successful contestant, now boasting over 120,000 followers on Instagram. He’s very handsome and a real sweetheart, but I can’t help feeling a bit off about some of the stuff he did on the show. I know we’re all human and he’s definitely not the most chaotic member of the show, but there were times when I thought to myself, why would he do that?? Here’s my take on his red flags, although they definitely aren’t as glaring as Sam’s.

He cheated on one of his ex girlfriends

In the second instalment of Love Is Blind UK season one, Freddie revealed to Cat that he had cheated on an ex girlfriend seven years prior to coming on the show. He seemed very upset and anxious about telling her, which makes sense because it’s a pretty bad thing to do. I mean, it makes it better that he was open with her about it, but Cat was quick to tell the cameras “once a cheat, always a cheat,” making us question whether Cat would ever be able to trust him again. It looks like the cracks in their relationship never truly healed after this moment.

He’s constantly saying how ‘boujee’ Cat is for going to brunch like twice a month

Honestly, I’m so sick of the Cat hate on this. First it was Ollie, now it’s Freddie. Like who actually cares if she goes to Cirque, or has brunch with the girlies? He said he didn’t think he’d get along with “that type of girl”, and she replied with: “This is actually annoying me now because you’ve lived with me for quite a while and still think I eat at Nobu like every day.” It literally doesn’t matter, and it high-key feels like Freddie’s constantly judging her for wanting to go out when he’d rather be boring at home every night. Sorry fun sponge!

He told Catherine’s sisters ‘I wanna marry the girl’ and then said no

Obviously I’m not saying people can’t change their minds, but it feels so mean for him to tell Catherine’s sisters that he wants to marry her and then say no at the altar. She probably really believed they were going to get married, and while their relationship may have ultimately not been a good fit, it’s still devastating to hear.

Bought beautiful earrings for Cat but then binned her off at the altar??

This really threw me. I know that after the wedding he told his family that he still wanted to move in and be with Catherine, but I just felt it was strange to get her hopes up with a lovely wedding gift to her. Also wasn’t he just saying how worried he was about his money being in her hands? I feel like he really needs to pick an argument and stick with it.
