The whole show just seems way more serious than Love Island, which is usually a drama-riddled situationship fest. It seems like the older cast of Love Is Blind UK has gone down very well with viewers. Yes, I guess the appeal of Love Island is to have a “hot new bombshell” enter the villa, but that isn’t the case with Love Is Blind UK, where the whole point of the show is to fall for somebody’s personality instead of looks. People seem to like this vibe more and feel more hopeful for their futures working out.

People online seem to love the “posh” accents on the show, however I’m not sure if I’d put a brummie accent in that category (no offence implied). There’s definitely a more mature vibe that probably comes from the contestants being older, but I guess their lovely voices have something to do with it too. Maybe one of the requirements of the show is to have a great accent.

There’s a lot less discussing relationships

The producers actually encourage the contestants to shut up about their connections when they’re back in the living quarters, so there’s a lot less discussing relationships. For most of the time, they actually manage to do this. While this means a lot less drama for TV, it actually makes it a lot nicer to live, and the girls feel like genuine friends instead of competitors. On Love Island, it often feels like everyone’s talking behind everyone’s backs, but the lack of relationship discussion is very telling on Love Is Blind UK – it changes the whole vibe.

Being pulled for a chat is pretty much an every day occurrence on Love Island, but it’s caused some SERIOUS dramas on Love Is Blind UK. So far, there have been three notable chats, which include Benaiah and Sam’s showdown, Ollie and Cat’s “closure” chat, and Natasha telling Tom she’s in love with him. The level of beef is catastrophic and marriage-ending compared to having a little terrace conversation that might lead to a cheeky kiss.
