Calling all vegan Notts students: Your prayers have been answered and a vegan butchers is opening in Notts

Faux is open!

Nottingham’s very first 100% vegan butchers has finally opened on Mansfield Road after much speculation and excitement in the plant-based community.

Its owners, Ritchie Stainsby and Lauren Nally, who run the city’s popular vegan fine dining restaurant No. Twelve, are aiming to replicate an authentic experience, complete with selling fresh, locally sourced products by weight.

We hear they are offering a madness of meatlessness, including salami, black pudding, chicken thighs and hallelujah…bacon (perfect for Sunday morning sandwiches when your head’s a bit sore).

If you aren’t in the mood to cook, the deli is also offering fillings fresh-from-the-counter in sandwiches, bagels and rolls alongside lots of baked goods available to take away. We say it’s definitely worth a wander up out of town to Sherwood whether you’re the house’s vegan head chef or a curious and hungry meat-eater.

Be quick, though – Faux sold out within just a few hours of opening!
