You Shall Go To The (Burlesque!) Ball
Get ready for RAG’s biggest night of the year!
Two UEA societies are teaming up to throw a bash for students in the name of charity.
Raise And Give (RAG)’s Masquerade Ball and Burlesque Show is taking place on 22 February at the Assembly House in Norwich.
Students are invited to dress to impress, with decadent masks absolutely encouraged. In addition to a night of dinner and dancing, the recently-formed Burlesque society will thrill guests with a dance show.
The event will raise funds for Eastern Air Ambulance, in memory of Norwich teenager Matt Meacham-Roberts, who died last year.
RAG President, Harriet Topping said: “Matt Meacham-Roberts was my best friend’s brother. He was involved in a car accident on the North Walsham Road last year. Paramedics and Eastern Air Ambulance were on the scene within ten minutes, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do to save Matt.
The work that Eastern Air Ambulance do is incredible, and now Matt’s family are trying to raise money in memory of him.”
We’re working with Burlesque, a relatively new society. Students should come to see an incredible show, performed by fellow students, don their masquerade masks and have an amazing night!”
Tickets for the Ball are available at a special rate of £22 until Friday 8 February (normally £25), and include a buffet meal, a free drink and a disco with leading DJ Tom Smythe.
