These are the absolute coolest babes of the week (so far, anyway)

Celebrities, activists, Girl Scouts

As an editor of babe and a consumer of women's media, I try to avoid terms like yaaaaas and slaaaay queen like I avoid men with ponytails (by which I mean it's fine for me to do but I'll judge anyone else who does).

It's unavoidable, though. These queens did, in fact, slay and there's no dancing around it. They broke the internet, werked it, slayed and every other stolen-from-drag-culture term you've seen on Twitter in the past two years. They're our Babes of the Week:

Priscilla Samey, Harvard Class of 2021

You've seen the tweet. You've probably even retweeted it. And if you're anything like me, you wish you were this well-composed and creative. When Priscilla found herself without a date for her senior prom, she took herself — oh, and her Harvard acceptance letter.

The crimson envelope had a lot of competition for the plus-one slot, though, as Pricilla was also accepted to six other Ivy League schools including (but not limited to!) Yale, Princeton and Columbia.

Lucie Myslíkova, Girl Scout and Activist

In the face of a hateful Neo-Nazi (is there any other kind?) this 16-year-old Girl Scout from the Czech Republic met his ugly bald-headedness and even worse attitude with peaceful resistance and debate.

The image of her standing tall and calm as he screamed and wore tacky plastic sunglasses was captured by an amateur photographer and quickly spread across social media. The photographer, Vladimir Cicmanec, said Lucie "tried to explain to him that nationalism makes no sense because we are all people and should not be treated differently based on some arbitrary distinctions."

La La Anthony, TV Personality and Businesswoman

Her soon-to-be ex husband Carmelo Anthony says he'll do "anything and everything" to save his marriage (except stay faithful, I guess) but multitalented La La doesn't have time to waste. In an elegant, tasteful but still amazingly sassy move, La La arrived at this week's Met Gala wearing a ring on every single perfectly-manicured finger — except on that finger.

The glamorous dig is perfect. Subtle enough to remain dignified and well-composed but overt enough to send a message. I agree with her self-described attitude in the caption of her full-length Instagram photo: Unbreakable.

Jane Goodall, Researcher and Conservationist

Not that we thought she'd go any other way, but consider Jane Goodall an official member of the resistance. After Ivanka Trump included quotes from Goodall in her poorly-received book about working women, the renowned chimp researcher hit back with a plea for Ivanka to actually take the spirit of her words (used without permission, btw) to heart and do something about her father's all-but-total-promise to destroy the environment.

She's not wrong either — Trump is basically the toxic chemical monster from Fern Gully. “She is in a position to do much good or terrible harm,” Goodall said. “I hope that Ms. Trump will stand with us to value and cherish our natural world and protect this planet for future generations.”

Rihanna, Singer and Fashion Icon

Tom Ford once called Rihanna's Instagram "the most exciting thing happening in fashion right now." He's not wrong of course, but like we needed him to tell us what everyone already knew.

Bad Girl Rih Rih, the perennially best-dressed guest of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Benefit, stopped hearts once again as she arrived at this year's Met Gala clad in what might be the best thing Comme Des Garçon has ever created. Her refusal to follow in lockstep with other basic celebrities — on this red carpet and every other — makes her the icon she is. Rihanna doesn't give a fuck! She's unapologetically her and that's why we love her.
