Newcastle clubs set to open at one minute past midnight on monday

The minute ‘Freedom Day’ begins, some clubs in Newcastle are opening their doors

Several of our fave nightclubs in the Toon are opening their dance-floors at one minute past midnight on the 19th of July, following 16 months of closure.

The clubs include Digi, Cosmic, World HQ and Powerhouse, and there are still tickets available for each of them.

The opening of clubs follows an announcement from Health Secretary Sajid Javid that “Freedom Day” was to go ahead, and most Covid regulations will be dismissed, meaning that clubs and nightclubs can legally open their doors again.

Clubs are expected to ensure that those attending have either been vaccinated or have tested negative before entering.

The Tab Newcastle found that only 43 per cent of students are planning to go clubbing on the 19th, following the results of Tab debates on the 13th July. Also, The Tab Newcastle found that 67 per cent of students will be sticking to pubs over clubs once everything has reopened.

Digi is selling tickets for their event for £16.87, available here, where they will be hosting DJ Patrick Topping. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, Newcastle Women’s Aid and Wallsend Memorial Hall and People’s Centre.

Cosmic’s event, Revival, has the cheapest tickets of the clubs opening at midnight, priced at only £5.60, and are available here.

Powerhouse is opening its doors too, with only the queue jump tickets available to buy, priced at £12, and are available here. These tickets mean you are able to get to the dance-floor as quick as possible, allowing for a full four hours of dancing.

Tickets for World HQ are on second release, proving to be very popular already, and are available for £11.20 here.

Other clubs in Newcastle are expected to open in the evening on the 19th and to resume clubbing as you remember it.
