‘Extremely upsetting’: All of the YouTube creators who have called out Cody Ko
Many of his close friends and collaborators were quick to turn against him
It’s no surprise that after hearing the Cody Ko allegations, many online creators were quick to turn against him, or try to dissociate their brands with him. Cody Ko has been a popular name on YouTube since 2014, following in the footsteps of many Vine creators who were forced to move to the platform after Vine shut down.
He has collaborated with a vast number of popular creators and has always been considered very unproblematic by his viewers. However, fellow commentary YouTuber D’Angelo Wallace put some very serious allegations against him in a video titled An uncomfortable conversation about Cody Ko. Cody has seen a huge decrease in his YouTube subscribers since the video was published.
If you weren’t aware, Tana Mongeau has claimed to have had sex with Cody Ko when she was 17 and he was 25. Despite mentioning this allegation previously on her channel, it was only brought to many fans’ attention after her hot seat segment during the Cancelled Podcast Live show.

She says: “I can say that, I was literally 17 at the time.” In Wallace’s video, he points out that the legal age of consent is 18 in the states where it may have taken place (California and Florida).
Since Wallace’s video went viral, fans and viewers have been urging their favourite YouTube creators to address the situation, with many of them having collaborated with Cody Ko in the past. Here’s a rundown of all the YouTubers that made a statement in some way or another:
D’Angelo Wallace
Most Read
D’Angelo’s video shook the YouTube community when it was originally posted, and drew attention to the situation for the first time for many of his fans. In the video, which now has almost three million views just two weeks after being posted, Wallace encouraged his viewers to take Mongeau’s claim seriously and not let it be “an open secret and swept under the rug,” which it allegedly has been so far.
Adam McIntyre
Adam McIntyre, well-known commentary YouTuber who specialises in pop culture, made a video titled D’Angelo Wallace exposes Cody Ko, in which he says: “There’s very little that can happen because these men get away with everything but the fact that there’s not even any form of acknowledgement is really frustrating from an audience standpoint, but obviously I can’t even imagine how frustrating it is for Tana.”
iNabber
iNabber’s video basically means this controversy is hitting all sides of YouTube. In the video, which he called Cody Ko: The Dark Story Behind Another YouTube Creep, he acknowledges that after doing extensive research the situation is “far worse than we originally thought.”
Penguinz0
Charles White (or more commonly known as Penguinz0) has a whopping 15 million subscribers on YouTube, and his video on the Cody Ko situation has almost six million views. In his usual very blunt manner, he says: “I’m gonna go ahead an explain this. 17 is less than 18. Thus, that is below the age of consent.”
HasanAbi
A popular YouTuber with very similar circles to Cody has made a video regarding the situation, but firstly opened it in his own defence: “I’ve known him for 10 years, I met him a long long time ago and we’re not like super close or anything.” He also assures his audience: “Something I did not know about him was what he apparently did when he was 25 years old to a 17 year old.”
Brittany Broski
Brittany Broski, longtime fan and collaborator with Cody Ko, posted this statement on her Instagram story regarding the allegations. Her words didn’t seem popular with her fans, who branded her the “opposite of a girls girl” on Reddit. However, many have come to her defence, arguing that it’s not her responsibility to come forward. One user commented: “Do y’all realise it’s Cody that really needs to make a statement, not other commentary YouTubers?”
Annamarie Forcino
Popular creator Annamarie Forcino seems to be taking a prominent stand against Cody by encouraging her followers to watch Amanda Todhunter’s video, titled an unfortunate recap of the Cody Ko allegations.
Kurtis Conner
Very popular YouTuber Kurtis Conner, who has collaborated with Cody several times, has yet to make a statement on the situation but has unfollowed him on Instagram, so I guess we can assume he’s also hoping to dissociate himself with Cody’s allegations.

9 years is a long time to y’all until it’s the age gap between Tana and CodyKo https://t.co/fSHBq3xfpR

Queen of commentary YouTube creators Chadchad didn’t hold back in a scathing tweet: “9 years is a long time to y’all until it’s the age gap between Tana and Cody Ko.” it’s pretty clear what standpoint she’s taking on this.
Cody Ko is yet to make a public statement about the allegations.
