Footage has emerged proving Grace and Joey actually met in 2017 on Celebs Go Dating!?
They said on Love Island that they met in Ibiza
There’s always something with Grace and Joey from Love Island, isn’t there? Always rumours and theories. Before they split after Jessy tore up the villa as a bombshell who managed to turn Joey’s head, there were so many theories that Grace and Joey had already planned their full Love Island journey because they’d known each other before the villa and some murmurs they never even split up. It was all chaos, and mostly debunked. But now we have evidence that Joey and Grace actually lied on Love Island about how they met – considering they first encountered each other in 2017 on Celebs Go Dating!?
In a video posted on TikTok, all has been revealed. And I’m actually shook, to be honest.

In the video, you can see Joey Essex and Grace at a Celebs Go Dating mixer. It’s not clear if they actually interacted all that much, but they definitely would have met. What’s even more random is Grace is seemingly on a date with Perri from Diversity. Random.
What’s most jarring about it all though is why Grace and Joey actually lied about where they met on Love Island, because they did not confess to the Celebs Go Dating 2017 interaction and instead told the whole villa and us at home that they met in Ibiza? What’s that all about? Just a cooler story that makes them sound less lame? I’m drawing a blank.
Honestly, TikTok detectives are better than actual detectives. How they unearthed this from Celebs Go Dating season two in 2017 is beyond me, but we’re grateful they did.
