This is why everyone thinks Taylor Swift’s song thanK you aIMee is about Kim Kardashian

The title literally spells out KIM!!

Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department has just been released and, given there’s a whole 31 (!!) songs, the whole thing is full of savage digs including loads at her ex Matty Healy. Like, seriously, there are at least six songs fully about him. And given her years-long feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, everyone is convinced that the song ‘thanK you aIMee’ is about her. And as you can see, the song already spells out Kim in the capital letters. So this might just be her most direct song about Kim K to date.

So, is Taylor Swift’s song thanK you aIMee about Kim Kardashian?

The song explores a story of a feud that Taylor had with a woman called Aimee from her home town who was a bully who ended up being celebrated. Taylor talks about the pain the bully caused and how the situation made her create a legacy that can’t be undone.

In the song’s chorus, Taylor sings: “All that time you were throwin’ punches, I was buildin’ something”, everyone thinks this is a reference to the infamous 2016 drama when Kanye West released his song Famous with the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.” Kim then claimed Taylor gave him permission to use the lyric and even released a clip of a phone call of them discussing it.

After this whole drama, Taylor disappeared and released Reputation, which people have understood as her “building something” from the song.

But, and this is where it gets JUICY. In the bridge of the song Taylor sings: “One day, your kid comes home singin’ a song that only us two is gonna know is about you” which is a reference to Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West posting TikToks of her dancing to Taylor Swift including one which Kim joined in dancing to Shake It Off.

So this lyric refers to North coming home singing her song thanK you alMee without knowing it’s actually all about her mum Kim. Drama!!
