Wait, did West and Amanda start dating way sooner than they’re claiming they did?
The rumours have been swirling for ages

The rumours have been swirling for ages
Well. Bravo fans are absolutely doing what Bravo fans do best right now: building a relationship timeline like they’re the FBI.
Amanda Batula and West Wilson finally confirmed they’re together in a joint statement on March 31, calling the romance “very new” and saying it grew out of a long friendship.
But because this is Summer House, nobody is taking that at face value without a little side-eye.
Between Amanda’s January split, West’s very public denial days ago, and those increasingly loud rumours, the timeline is looking… messier than they’d probably like.
The first big date in this saga is January 19, 2026, when Amanda and Kyle Cooke announced their separation after four years of marriage.
That matters because any Amanda-and-West timeline starts there: publicly, she was newly single only a little over two months before she and West confirmed the relationship.
PEOPLE also reported that Amanda and West’s reveal came two months after the split, which is exactly why the news landed with such a shockwave.
And now… the detail that’s really making some spiral.
Page Six reports that, according to Dave Portnoy, this whole situation might go back way further than March. On March 31, he casually claimed on X that he’d already heard about Amanda and West’s romance during Super Bowl weekend in February, thanks to Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.
It’s not backed up by evidnce. But, if that’s true, it pushes the potential start of their relationship (or at least the rumors of it) back by weeks.
And it doesn’t stop there. A TikTok from the game reportedly showed Amanda and West standing very close together, which only adds to the “something was already going on” theory.
Of course, this isn’t hard confirmation, it’s secondhand info via Portnoy, but in Bravo terms? That’s basically a blinking neon sign.
Especially because, at the same Super Bowl, West was publicly seen with his ex Ciara Miller, which at the time had people thinking that was the storyline.
Here’s where the eyebrow raise begins.
On the March 9 episode of Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast, Amanda said she was not interested in dating her castmates, with Bravo quoting her as saying, “I’m not touching any of my cast members.”
That doesn’t automatically mean she and West were already secretly involved, of course, but it does make the eventual reveal feel extra jarring in hindsight.
At minimum, it suggests either things changed very fast, or she was already being careful with what she said publicly.
By mid-March, fan chatter had clearly moved beyond random guessing.
PEOPLE reported that speculation was already circulating earlier in the month, including a Deuxmoi item claiming Amanda and West were “openly flirty.”
Then, on March 29, Austen Kroll tossed gasoline on the rumour fire with that now-infamous Instagram Story caption about “f— your friends exes,” which many took as a pointed reference to West dating Amanda, given his history with Ciara Miller.
This is the date that really makes people question the “very new” label.
On Watch What Happens Live on March 24, West shut the rumours down and insisted Amanda was just his “homegirl,” saying they were simply hanging out in New York and that she was “a very important person” to him.
A week later, he and Amanda released their joint statement confirming the romance.
That gap is why cast members reportedly feel blindsided: according to PEOPLE’s source, Amanda and West were “openly lying about it,” and much of the group only pieced it together over the last few days.

In their statement, Amanda and West said the relationship is “still very new,” that it was “the last thing either of us expected,” and that it developed from a “genuine, long-standing friendship.”
They also admitted they stayed quiet because of the “complicated relationship dynamics involved,” which feels like a major acknowledgement of the Kyle-and-Ciara factor.
Is there hard proof they started dating way earlier than they’re claiming? No, not publicly, anyway.
But the timeline absolutely leaves room for suspicion, especially because the public denials, flirt rumors, and cast backlash all happened within the same few weeks.
