Right, let’s debunk the rumours the Real Housewives franchise is being completely phased out
This absolutely cannot happen
The Real Housewives franchise has been running for years, and I can’t really remember reality TV without it. But for some reason, there’s a rumour the entire future of the show is slowly being phased out, meaning what makes up most iconic memes will be removed entirely.
We all know the show makes a lot of money for Bravo, but there’s now word that NBCUniversal, which owns Bravo, will axe every single one of The Real Housewives shows out. A Bravo representative has thankfully already denied it, but it’s not enough to convince people.
Apparently, discussions on axing the franchise will quietly happen over the next two years. There’s been years of scandals, from Jen Shah‘s arrest to the Salahis, which saw The Real Housewives of DC star Michele Salahi, and her husband, crash the White House dinner.
This moment felt like one of the realest and raw moments we’ve seen on #RHOSLC and we’ve literally witnessed Jen Shah being arrested and go to prison. It felt very old school housewives in a good way. pic.twitter.com/nf1raLvFMw

There’s admittedly been sinking ratings, and maybe the drama has become too real. And it was a Bravo insider who started these rumours, and the franchise executives are said to be alarmed by the crazy amount of lawsuits that have happened on the shows.
A longtime Bravo insider told Radar Online the whole endeavour has “turned toxic. The Housewives used to deliver glamour and chaos, and now it’s just legal bills and damage control.” Apparently, the whole thing has turned into a “headache” the NBC doesn’t want.
Basically, there’s a belief the legal side of things is too costly. “They built an empire on drama,” a producer told Radar Online. “But the drama’s gotten way too real – and expensive.” But isn’t that what makes The Real Housewives bring so much money in?!
