Following constant speculation, MTV has confirmed that Catfish has officially been cancelled
The show has been going for over ten years
The popular MTV show Catfish has officially been cancelled after almost 15 years, with host Nev Schulman moving onto other projects.
The show ran for nine seasons, with Nev helping people to discover who they were really talking to on the other side of the screen.
Nev Schulman and Max Joseph made a video confirming the end of Catfish on Instagram, saying: “Well guys, that’s a wrap on Catfish.
“After 12 years, almost 300 episodes and a lot of travelling, Catfish has officially been cancelled. The point is, Catfish as we’ve known it is over, which is sad but at the same time what an incredible journey it’s been.
“The crew of this show are our family and I love you guys so thank you so much for all your hard work.”
They continued: “Thank you most of all to the fans, you guys have been awesome and you’ve made the show worth continuing to do even though I left.
“Thank you for being part of this and for turning what was an idea and a documentary into a global conversation about curiosity, and mental health and compassion and setting a higher standard for how we should treat people.”
Nev added: “If we leave you with one thing, it’s that no matter what ever happens in your life, no matter how someone treats you, never call someone a fat ass Kelly Price.”
