Omg, Drag Race’s Alaska suddenly announces huge life update amid all the online drama
She's feuding with everyone but her fiancé
Drag Race star Alaska has announced she’s officially engaged! She’s been in a relationship with Matthew Herrmann for a while, who proposed to her in her hometown on August 3rd, during her Grandma’s 90th birthday celebrations.
She randomly posted a photo of her engagement ring with ring emojis and smile emojis – and loads of people were confused about who she’s engaged to. Alaska tends to keep her drama at the forefront but her personal life close to her heart!
Alaska revealed to Entertainment Weekly that she “loves him so much and he’s the best” while speaking about Matthew, who is a Los Angeles-based producer and educator. Matthew is always sharing updates while supporting Alaska in her drag performances.
He posted one of Alaska’s feature interviews in the New York Times in January and wrote: “Congratulations. I am so so proud of you.” Before meeting Matthew, Alaska was dating Drag Race season four winner Sharon Needles for years, before splitting in 2013.
Alaska has recently been embroiled in drama with some other queens, and has had Willam’s back throughout all of it. Acid Betty dropped Alaska in it, saying that her “staying silent is liberal gold” during the recent development with Mistress.
Willam, Armie Hammer, Alaska and Shangela are all on one side of the fence, while Mistress and Acid are not happy with how Willam is speaking about them. Daya has now become involved and called out Alaska and Willam for not apologising to Acid Betty.
But at least Alaska’s love life is going smoothly! She often mentions Matt in her Race Chaser podcast with Willam, and now we all know the guy she’s speaking about. And loads of the Drag Race queens are already getting their flower girl outfits ready…
