They'd already made a name for themselves before the show
For some queens RuPaul’s Drag Race was their first time on the big screen, but for others they’d already made a career for themselves on the small screen.
So, let’s have a look at the RuPaul’s Drag Race cast members who had already starred in films and TV before their appearance on the iconic show.
William Belli

William’s major role prior to RuPaul’s Drag Race was as Cherry Peck in Ryan Murphy’s medical drama, Nip/ Tuck. They’ve also appeared in other series such as CSI, My Name Is Earl and Boston Public.
Following their appearance in RuPaul’s Drag Race, William starred in A Star Is Born alongside Lady Gaga and prior to Drag Race appeared in the films Because I Said So and American Wedding.
Tammie Brown

Tammie first appeared on The Surreal Life with Tammy Faye Messner, and has also starred in adverts for McDonald’s and UPS.
She also tried out for the LA auditions of season two of America’s Got Talent, but sadly didn’t get through to the main competition.
Adore Delano

Adore appeared on both season six and seven as a finalist on American Idol as Danny Noriega, and even made it into the top 24!
Courtney Act

Courtney Act was another RuPaul’s Drag Race star who starred in Australian Idol and was actually a finalist, but just missed out on winning the whole thing.
Peppermint
Peppermint previously appeared in MTV’s The Real World alongside making a short appearance as a drag queen in Ugly Betty.
Kelly Mantle

Kelly Mantle appeared in quite a few shows before her RuPaul’s Drag Race fame such as NYPD Blue, Will & Grace, The Browns and The New Adventures of Old Christine
