The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Demi Engemann has finally broken her silence on her drama with ex-best friend, Jessi. They had a tight-knit friendship, but it all went pear-shaped off-camera, and even Demi’s partner Bret admitted he never saw Jessi as one of her real friends, even when they were super close.
Demi finally explains what happened with Jessi from Mormon Wives
Demi has revealed that her and Jessi still aren’t friends, despite how close they were on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She told The Viall Files that it all started when Jessi blocked her on social media, which is still in place, revealing that “things were twisted” and is claiming that she “tried to approach her but she responded by saying, ‘We’ll talk on camera.'”
She added how she felt it was a transactional relationship, because she thought, “if she really cared about her, she’d want to have a conversation that day.” While Demi has recently become close with Whitney, Demi and Jessi have unfollowed each other on TikTok. Jessi wrote: “I know people tend to think these things are manufactured drama but these are real friendships.”
She said they “have ups and downs and unfortunately things like go noticed because we’re public.” Jessi added, “Nothing has ever been faked for cameras, and the end of any friendship is very sad. Hopefully future seasons will give speculation more context but just remember you never really know the full story of any friendship because human emotions are complex.”
Demi had trusted Jessi with a big secret
Jessi allegedly told Scheana something Demi had told her and the girls in private, claimed Demi. She had asked her co-stars not to tell anyone, even their husbands, but felt betrayed by Demi’s behaviour. She said, “All but two weeks later, I think Jessi went and told Scheana. Like, why would you tell someone you’ve known five minutes that?”
