A Love Is Blind star revealed what it was REALLY like at this ‘surface level’ cast event
I've always wanted to be a fly on the wall
So, Love Is Blind producers invited former contestants to come and enjoy season eight on the big screen. Marissa, who has previously appeared on the dating show on season seven, revealed how it’s “surface level” at these events and not exactly the glamorous, fun-loving time we’d all assume the cast members would have. But then again, that reunion was tense.
Love Is Blind star reveals BTS on cast event in Austin
Marissa has revealed her personal experience of the recent Austin cast event, in which contestants were invited to see season eight play out. Stacey from last season apparently didn’t get an invite, but those who did don’t exactly have ideal memories of the glamorous premiere party. Marissa said that, despite her experience, her account “isn’t a knock on anybody that she met.”
In a new TikTok video, she revealed how “everyone she met was so amazing and so nice,” but explained how it was a “wake-up call that this is a job.” She basically said how, just because they’ve all appeared on a season of Love Is Blind, doesn’t mean they “have anything in common or that we should even be friends.”
“I think the thing that bothered me most was you saw cast mates who treated other cast mates who are having a hard time. So any cast mates having bad press or who isn’t super loved in the public, you could tell people got a cake to those with larger follower accounts and better connections. I could just be making this up in my head, but I don’t think I am,” Marissa revealed.
She says their friendships are just ‘surface level’

Marissa explained how, after the event, she spoke to fellow contestants outside of the event who have similar feelings. She said, “It’s interesting and you can go on these trips with friends, with cast mates, and it looks like everyone’s having a great time, which I again had a great time, there are moments where you’re just like, ‘Umm, this feels very lonely.'”
She also said the Austin event “felt very surface level.” Photos show the season eight cast all holding their infamous gold cups and smiling, while people watched the show with popcorn. Even Lauren seemed pretty pally with Dave, despite their really awkward split after he found out she’d had intimacy with a mutual friend before the experiment.
